Position Overview:
AI Project Manager is responsible for leading and delivering enterprise-level artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning initiatives across the full project lifecycle—from intake and planning through development, implementation, and post‑deployment support. This role combines strong project management discipline with strategic leadership to ensure AI solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned to measurable business outcomes. The bulk of AI use cases will be around Supply Chain, Planning and distribution.

The AI Project Manager partners closely with IT, data science, and business stakeholders to translate operational and business challenges into AI‑ready use cases, manage AI-specific risks, and drive adoption of AI solutions across manufacturing and distribution environments. This role operates in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial setting that values both rigor and flexibility.

Key Responsibilities:
Program & Project Leadership:
  • Lead end‑to‑end delivery of AI initiatives while positioning the PMO as a strategic advisor to the organization.
  • Lead AI initiatives specifically focused on supply chain, planning, and distribution operations.
  • Serve as the subject‑matter expert for supply chain processes translating operational challenges into. AI‑ready problem statements and guiding cross‑functional teams through implementation.
  • Develop and manage project artifacts, including project charters, schedules, budgets, communication plans, testing plans, and implementation plans.
  • Manage project scope, timelines, resources, risks, dependencies, and quality of deliverables.
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies based on project needs.
  • Support the continued adoption and maturation of Agile delivery practices.
AI Strategy & Execution:
  • Partner with IT leadership and business stakeholders to identify, prioritize, and deliver AI and machine learning use cases.
  • Translate business problems into AI‑ready problem statements with clearly defined success metrics (ROI, adoption, performance).
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams across the AI lifecycle, including data engineering, data science, application development, and operations.
  • Oversee AI pilots, proofs of concept, and production deployments, including hyper‑care support and post‑implementation monitoring.
  • Manage AI‑specific risks such as data quality, bias, explainability, security, and regulatory compliance.
  • Lead AI‑focused change management to build trust, drive adoption, and ensure effective use of AI solutions.
Governance, Communication & Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Facilitate executive, leadership, and cross‑functional workshops and roundtable discussions.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to present prioritized AI use cases, including scoring models and rationale.
  • Provide clear, concise reporting on individual projects and overall program health, including milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions needed, and value delivered.
  • Manage external vendors, platforms, and partners delivering AI capabilities and services.
Qualifications:
Education & Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • PMP certification or actively pursuing certification.
  • Agile certification (e.g., Scrum, SAFe).
  • Preferred: AI, machine learning, or data analytics training or certification.
Experience:
  • 8–10 years of project management experience leading cross‑functional initiatives.
  • 5–8 years of information technology management experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, distribution, or operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering AI, machine learning, or data‑driven solutions.
  • Strong collaboration, facilitation, communication, and risk management capabilities.
